TFL Mission

  • Increase access to and acquisition of assistive technology devices and services so Georgians of all ages and disabilities can live, learn, work and play independently in communities of their choice.

Team Meeting Expectations

1. All TFL team meetings are no/light device meetings. This means using your device professionally, minimally, as an accommodation, or for emergencies.

2. Be mindful of the time you are given for your updates.

3. Provide thoughtful and comprehensive updates to the team. This time is the opportunity for everyone to learn about TFL projects and activities.

TFL K-12 Initiatives and Updates (Gina)

  • EdTrade – has gone live and we are getting ready for the first district to begin using it in the upcoming days
    • statewide rollout fall 2021
    • not open to the general public
    • only authenticated users will be able to log in
    • no “open” registration so to speak – special education directors will automatically receive log-in information, they will assign users in their school district
      • EdTrade Roles – AT Inventory Administrator, AT Inventory Manager, Basic User
    • one account per district, if a director leaves, we will change the information from our office – so we don’t end up with multiple district accounts
    • 4 transactions: borrow/loan, buy/sell, exchange/trade/swap, donate/give –
    • reuse database also inventory management tool for districts – before any equipment can be listed for a transaction, it must be listed as an asset in the district’s inventory

  • Wired Wednesdays- July and August will be completed by WATAP. Ciara is assisting with lining up someone for September and October.
  • Next DAS July 22nd, 1pm-2pm, August 19th, 1pm-2pm- June's training went well with 50 ppl attending.
  • First shipments of AT and AT Assessments for DAS have been delivered (2 assessments and 4 with AT) Working with 4 new individuals. 2 have been contacted and in the process of ordering equipment and others have left messages.
  • Network partners continue to reach out for AT guidance and/or setting up virtual meetings with their clients for AT solutions with TFL
  • ADRC Virtual Conference- Sal and Martha attended and presented- excellent attendance (we think over 300) for the presentation
  • Rachel, Sal, and Martha have turned in pre-recorded presentation for GGS Presentation on August 9th.

Open Enrollment begins October 21st!

  • Open Enrollment for 2021 Benefits selection begins tomorrow October 21st and ends November 6th. This is an active enrollment - meaning you must log into the system and confirm your benefits even if no changes are being made. Additionally, you will need to certify you and your dependent(s) (age 18 and older) tobacco use status. Tobacco users will be charged $100 per month, per person for using tobacco products and system automatically defaults to tobacco user.
